The word - by Deyse

The classroom where the students with special needs had their classes was now empty and everybody had already left the school. But it was still day and suddenly two angels appeared inside the silent room. With a pleased smile upon her beautiful face, Monica turned to Andrew with anxious bright eyes. Holding a chess board and all the pieces of that game, and also smiling, the blond angel arranged the table and 2 chairs, one opposite the other. Then, he placed the chess board on the table and set all the pieces in their right position.

“So... Are you ready?” he asked, loving the look of anxiety on her face.

“Yes, sir! But I have to warn you that I have been practising a lot, so be careful!”

Chuckling, he came closer to her and placed a loving kiss on her cheek. Then, he pulled a chair for Monica and both sat facing each other.

“Well, we’ll see that, Angel Girl!”

Over an hour later, the blond angel made the last move and happily announced: “Cheque matte!”

With a totally confused face, Monica was still trying to figure out what she had done wrongly. “That can’t be possible... I studied this so much before I started to work on this assignment!” she spoke, still not believing it.

Laughing at her annoyance, and finding it quite adorable, he leaned forward and stared at her face, “Well, I’m sorry to inform you, Monica, but you lost!”

She looked back at him slightly indignantly, “I want revenge!”

“Hey! That’s not very angelic!” he joked, laughing even more.

“You know what I mean, Andrew! I want to play again!”

“Ok... But I have to warn you: today I have such a gorgeous and charming opponent, which means that I’m quite inspired!”

Blushing and quite pleased with is words, she stared at him, “I’ll pay a lot more attention this time!”

One hour later, though, Andrew moved the king and, once again, announced, “Cheque matte!”

“I can’t believe it!” the Irish angel exclaimed, now even more upset. “It’s not possible!”

“Yes, it is! I won and now you owe me a prize!”

With a mix of surprise and indignation, she stared at him, “Oh! I most certainly do not! I told you at Rolando’s house, I don’t bet anything!”

“You didn’t tell this to me! You told this to Rolando!” he replied, visibly having fun with that situation. Then the blond angel stood up from his chair and crossed his arms in front of his chest, “I’m waiting for my reward!”

There was a demanding tone in his voice and a mock serious expression on his face, which only made Monica forget her previous annoyance and smile.

“You are hopeless!” she exclaimed.

“Nope! I’m a very hard working angel, who studied a lot in order to win this game and claiming my prize!”

Giggling, she stood up and walked over to where he was, “Well, it seems to me that I have no choice...”

“No, you don’t!”

“Ok, then...”

She inched forward and brushed a gentle kiss on his cheek.

“I won you TWICE!” he said, clearly pleased with that situation. Still giggling, Monica rolled her eyes and, wrapping her arms around his neck, she pulled him down closer to her and started to place lots of tiny kisses on his face and lips.

“That’s what you get for making me love you so much!!!” she spoke.

“We’ll have to find a way to play chess at least once a week!” the blond angel explained, also wrapping his arms around her waist, hugging her tightly, and then brushing a tender kiss on her lips.
